For Penobscot Valley professionals, business networking events during October 6–12 offer several ways to make connections, from early coffee to online meetings.

The week opens Tuesday, October 6, when Paul Bunyan BNI meets online at 7:00 AM.

Visitors interested in the referral-focused group should request meeting access from the chapter before Tuesday morning.

Wednesday brings a broader conversation at the Chamber Early Bird Breakfast, held at Jeff’s Catering & Event Center in Brewer.

Networking starts at 7:15 AM on October 7, followed by breakfast at 7:30 AM and the program at 8:00 AM.

Maine Office of Tourism Director Carolann Ouellette will discuss summer visitation and travel trends, with an eye toward what they mean for local businesses.

For owners watching customer traffic closely, the discussion could be more useful than another round of small talk.

Breakfast costs $25 for chamber members and $30 for nonmembers; attendees should RSVP and prepay through the chamber.

Thursday, October 8, begins with two BNI meetings at 8:30 AM, giving visitors a choice of formats.

Queen City BNI gathers at The Sports Arena on Hammond Street in Hermon, while Black Bear BNI meets online that morning.

Black Bear’s first-Thursday meetings are in person, but its remaining Thursday meetings are online; prospective visitors should arrange access ahead of time.

At noon, FUSION:Bangor’s Community Subcommittee meets at the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce on Hammond Street in Bangor.

That hour offers a different kind of connection for people interested in contributing to FUSION’s community work.

Later Thursday, a free healthcare information session runs from 5:30 to 6:30 PM at Thriving Proof on Penn Plaza in Bangor.

It covers insurance enrollment, health sharing and direct primary care; bring questions, and register before attending.

Friday’s early start belongs to Bangor Breakfast BNI, which meets October 9 at 7:00 AM at the Bangor Elks Lodge on Odlin Road.

Like the other chapters, it centers on building professional relationships and exchanging referrals, so visitors should arrange a visit in advance.

Among this week’s chamber breakfast events and smaller gatherings, there is room for both quick introductions and substantive local conversations.

The best choice may simply be the meeting you can attend ready to listen, follow up and contribute.
