A Week of Engaging Activities Across the Region

As the new year unfolds, the Penobscot Valley offers a vibrant array of events from January 6 to January 12, 2026.

 

On Tuesday, January 6, the Penobscot Valley Senior College kicks off its Winter Extravaganza with "How to Make a Constitution Disappear" by Zachary Heiden, held virtually at 4:00 PM.

 

Music enthusiasts can enjoy the Songwriters Open Mic at 2Feet Brewing Company in downtown Bangor from 5:00 to 8:00 PM.

 

For those interested in games, the Penobscot Pour House hosts BINGO from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, followed by Game Night from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.

 

On Wednesday, January 7, the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce presents a Lunch & Learn session from 12:00 to 1:00 PM.

 

In the evening, karaoke enthusiasts can head to the Penobscot Pour House from 8:00 to 11:55 PM.

 

Thursday, January 8, features the Next Chapter Book Club from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at a downtown Bangor venue.

 

Later, Barliman’s hosts Tarot Night from 4:00 PM until midnight.

 

On Friday, January 9, the Bangor Public Library offers Tech Tutoring sessions from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

 

In the evening, the Winter Gallery Exhibit & Reception takes place from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at various downtown galleries.

 

Saturday, January 10, brings the Bangor’s European Market at Ingrid’s German Gift Shop from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

 

On Sunday, January 11, Happy Endings offers a brunch from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

 

In the afternoon, the Sunday Community Jam occurs from 2:00 to 5:00 PM at 2Feet Brewing Company.

 

Monday, January 12, features a Winter Wellness Workshop from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the Brewer Public Library.

 

Later, the Open Mic at the Penobscot Pour House runs from 6:00 to 9:00 PM.

 

Looking ahead, the Penobscot Theatre Company is set to present "Almost, Maine" starting January 29, 2026, offering a captivating collection of interconnected stories exploring love and connection in a northern Maine town.

 

Additionally, the Bangor YMCA has commenced construction on a new 82,000-square-foot facility on Main Street, expected to enhance community services upon completion in 2027.
