Rex dog in Old Town Maine find your new companion today

Discover rex animal orphanage and rex adoption opportunities

Meet Rex, a striking 4-year-old dog with a big heart and boundless energy, currently residing at the Animal Orphanage in Old Town, Maine.

After spending nearly a year at the shelter, Rex is eagerly awaiting his forever home.

Once comfortable, he becomes a gentle and loving companion who enjoys walks, playtime, and even swimming.

Rex is muzzle-trained and always ready for an adventure.

He thrives best as the only dog in a household without small children, cats, or small animals.

Rex has thyroid issues that require management and may resource guard, so he is fed separately.

Despite these needs, his affectionate nature and loyal heart make him a wonderful companion for someone ready to provide structure, consistency, and love.

Rex has been featured in Downeast Magazine, highlighting his journey and the dedication of the Animal Orphanage to finding him a suitable home.

Located at 71 Airport Road, the Animal Orphanage is a no-kill shelter committed to rescuing and rehabilitating animals in need.

They have successfully adopted out over 1,500 animals and rescued nearly 1,900 since 2019.

For those interested in adopting Rex or learning more about other animals available for adoption, the shelter is open Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM, and Saturday from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM.

To inquire about Rex or other adoption opportunities, contact the Animal Orphanage at (207) 827-8777.

By opening your heart and home to Rex, you're not just gaining a pet; you're welcoming a devoted friend and adventure buddy who will bring joy and companionship to your life.
