Meet Rex, a striking 4-year-old with a big heart and boundless energy.

For the past nine months, Rex has been patiently waiting at the Old Town Animal Orphanage for his perfect forever home.

This loyal and affectionate boy thrives on attention, playtime, and outdoor adventures.

He's muzzle-trained, enjoys swimming, and has a playful curiosity that makes every day exciting.

Rex would do best as the only dog in a home without small children, cats, or small animals.

He thrives in a calm environment with a woman who can provide the care, patience, and love he needs.

Rex has thyroid issues that require management and may resource guard, so he is fed separately.

Despite these needs, his affectionate nature and loyal heart make him a wonderful companion for someone ready to provide structure, consistency, and love.

After nine months with us, Rex is ready to find a calm, understanding home where he can explore, play, and receive all the attention he deserves.

He's more than just a pet—he's a devoted friend, adventure buddy, and loving presence who will bring joy, laughter, and companionship to the right family.

To meet Rex and learn more about adult dog adoption, visit the Old Town Animal Orphanage at 71 Airport Rd, Old Town, ME 04468, or call (207) 827-8777 during their operating hours: Monday through Friday from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm, and Saturday from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Join us in giving Rex the loving home he deserves.
