Bangor’s Festival of Lights Parade Returns This Saturday to Dazzle Downtown |
The cherished holiday tradition, organized by the Rotary Club of Bangor, will illuminate city streets with this year’s theme, “Unite for Good,” celebrating community spirit. |
One of the most anticipated holiday events in the Penobscot Valley is making its grand return this weekend.
Bangor’s Festival of Lights Parade is set to bring sparkle and holiday cheer to downtown streets this Saturday, December 6.
The festivities are scheduled to kick off at 4:30 PM, drawing thousands of spectators for an evening of magic.
This year's theme is “Unite for Good,” a celebration of how Mainers come together to support one another throughout the holiday season.
The parade, a cornerstone of Bangor holiday events, is organized by the dedicated members of the Rotary Club of Bangor.
Expect to see a dazzling display of festive floats, spirited marching bands, and local dance troupes making their way through the city.
The procession will begin at the intersection of State and Exchange Streets before turning onto Main Street and concluding near the waterfront at Water and Washington Streets.
This cherished event turns Downtown Bangor into a true winter wonderland, creating picture-perfect moments for families and friends.
While the official holiday tree lighting in West Market Square kicks off the season earlier, the parade reignites that festive glow, encouraging everyone to enjoy the downtown atmosphere.
It’s a perfect opportunity to support local businesses, with many planning to stay open for residents looking to shop or grab a warm meal before or after the event.
Attendees are reminded to arrive early to find a good viewing spot and to dress warmly for the crisp December air.
This is more than just a parade; it’s a reflection of Bangor's strong community fabric and holiday spirit.
Don't miss this highlight of the holiday season in Bangor, Maine. |
