The Maine Endurance Sports Alliance (MESA-Maine) has launched as a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit, setting the stage for a brighter future for the state’s running and endurance sports scene.

MESA-Maine now stewards several beloved races previously led by Lifestyle Sports Global, preserving these community favorites and ensuring registered participants can expect seamless transitions.

The switch to a nonprofit model helps deepen connections with local towns and passionate volunteers.

The organization is collaborating with municipalities, sponsors, emergency services, and other partners to maximize both economic impact and community spirit statewide.

Beyond managing events, MESA-Maine is dedicated to promoting healthy living, inspiring volunteerism, and supporting local initiatives through endurance sports.

This centralized, transparent approach aims to secure the future of Maine’s thriving running community for years to come.

đź’ˇ Answer to Trivia Question:

The Railroad

Newport sat at a strategic crossroads between Bangor, Central Maine, and western Maine, making it an ideal stop for rail lines moving lumber, agricultural goods, and manufactured products. Before modern roads, rail was the fastest and most reliable way to move heavy goods year-round.
