Burlington is set to launch two new stores on September 26 as part of a bold plan to open 60 new locations nationwide.
By acquiring 45 former Joann store leases after the craft retailer’s bankruptcy, Burlington is quickly expanding into new markets.
The upcoming stores will open in Bangor, Maine—Burlington’s second in the state—and Laredo, Texas, aiming to provide greater access to affordable brand-name merchandise.
Further locations across 23 states and Puerto Rico are expected soon, including cities like Houston, Irondequoit, and Louisville beginning October 3.
To celebrate, Burlington will give a $10 bonus card to the first 100 customers on the Friday and Saturday of each grand opening.

Betty Kellenberger, age 80, has become the oldest woman ever to complete the Appalachian Trail, finishing her historic trek atop Mount Katahdin in Maine on September 12, 2025.
Her accomplishment shattered the previous age record by six years and highlights her unbreakable spirit.
Kellenberger’s fascination with the trail began in childhood, but it was the pandemic that reignited her dream to hike its full length.
The journey was anything but easy.
