Peter Richmond | Woof LLC | GlenburnPeter Richmond didn't grow up with a dog. But when his son brought home a husky named Luca, something changed—and it never changed back. What began as a friendship with dog daycare owner Hallie Tyler became an opportunity Peter couldn't pass up. He took over the Glenburn property, put his name on the door, and built Woof LLC into the top-rated dog daycare in Penobscot County for two consecutive years. It's a story about taking an unexpected path, finding a passion later in life, and creating a place where dogs are safe, happy, and excited to come back. If you love dogs—or just enjoy hearing how local businesses get started—I think you'll enjoy this conversation. 🎙️ Listen on Spotify: |

One of the things I enjoy most about putting this newsletter together is discovering events I'd probably never have known about otherwise. I've lived in Maine for a long time, yet every week I find another small-town celebration, local tradition, or community gathering that reminds me there's always something new to experience.
If you make it to Penobscot Days this weekend, or spend a few hours wandering through the Sidewalk Art Festival in Bangor, I'd love to hear about it. Better yet, snap a picture and send it my way. Some of the best ideas for future editions come from readers who simply share where they've been and what they've enjoyed. Have a safe weekend, and I'll see you Tuesday morning. — Sandy |
