Good Morning Friends!

After some rain on Friday, the weather professionals are saying that this weekend is shaping up to be one of those great sunny spring weekends where there’s a little something happening everywhere you look. Between the Great Home Expo at Cross Insurance Center and all the activity surrounding Downtown Bangor’s “Big Dig” community events on Saturday, there’s a real sense of momentum and energy around the Valley right now. It’s always encouraging to see people out supporting local businesses, community projects, and each other after a long winter season.

If you’ve been thinking about tackling a home project, getting inspired for summer improvements, or simply spending a day exploring downtown, this is a great weekend to do it. And honestly, weekends like this remind me why I love this region so much — there’s a strong sense of community here when people come together.

A special thank you as well to this weekend’s newsletter sponsor, Performance Physical Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation, serving both Bangor and Brewer and helping people throughout our community stay active, recover from injuries, and keep moving forward every day.

Now grab a coffee, make some weekend plans, and let’s take a look at what’s happening around the Penobscot Valley this weekend.

We’ve been working on something fun behind the scenes — a brand-new Penobscot Valley Voice jingle! It’s upbeat, local, and designed to capture the energy of our communities, events, small businesses, and the people who make this region special.

Give it a quick listen below and let us know what you think. This is just the beginning as we continue building new ways to connect our local communities through stories, events, interviews, and more.

Thanks for being part of the Valley with us.

Brewer

Hampden & Old Town

Weekend Expert Tip

Spring is a great time to walk your property and spot drainage or cleanup issues before summer projects begin. A quick inspection now can save major headaches later.

Weekend Wellness Tip

Take advantage of the improving weather and spend a little extra time outside this weekend. Even a short walk can boost mood and energy after a long Maine winter.

This weekend’s edition of Penobscot Valley Voice is proudly supported by:

Performance Physical Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation
Helping people across Bangor, Brewer, and the Penobscot Valley recover, move better, and stay active

Enjoy the weekend, friends.

I plan to spend some time with family, fire up the grill, and enjoy a couple of BBQ’d steaks with homemade potato salad, baked beans, and maybe a cold beverage on the side.

Weekends like this remind us how important it is to slow down, get outside, and spend time with the people we care about most.

I hope your weekend includes a little sunshine, good food, and time with the people you love.

We’ll be back Tuesday morning with a brand-new edition of Penobscot Valley Voice packed with community stories, events, and local highlights from across the Valley.
